Greens on the Dunluce course have received verti-cutting followed by over-seeding and top-dressing. This has removed a large amount of material, predominantly the lateral growth of bent grass and the benefits can be seen in surface smoothness once the work is completed. Over-seeding has been done by our dimple seeder which is a spiked roller which pricks the surface and then drops seed into the holes. Any excess will germinate in grooves made by the verti-cutting. The seed used is Browntop Bent which will give us a better blend of fescue and fine leafed bent grass.
Valley greens will receive the same operation next week.
