The Valley 5th green and its surrounds have been treated with rescue graminicide to remove rye grass and improve the botanical composition of the turf. This green will be used as a practice putting green during the Open Championship as it is close to the driving range and the new short game area. Refinement work is needed as this green should represent the greens on the Dunluce course. Graminicide treatment could be extended throughout the valley course greens and surrounds later this year and into next spring to achieve improved composition and performance of the turf.
Over-seeding will be done here this week to fill any spaces left in the sward.
